LOS ANGELES, Oct. 4, 2018 – RLJE Films (NASDAQ: RLJE), has acquired all North American rights to the upcoming adventure film The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then The Bigfoot. Written by Robert D. Krzykowski , who makes his directorial debut, the film stars Sam Elliott (A Star is Born, The Hero), Aidan Turner (“Poldark”), Ron Livingston (Office Space, Tully), Caitlin FitzGerald (“Masters of Sex”), Larry Miller (Pretty Woman) and Ellar Coltrane (Boyhood). RLJE Films plans to release the film nationally in theaters, VOD and Digital HD in the first quarter of 2019.

The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then The Bigfoot made its World Premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival to great acclaim (currently 87% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes). The story follows a legendary American war veteran named Calvin Barr (Elliott / Turner) who, decades after serving in WWII and assassinating Adolf Hitler, must now hunt down the fabled Bigfoot. Living a peaceful life in New England, the former veteran is contacted by the FBI and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to lead the charge as the creature is carrying a deadly plague and is hidden deep inside the Canadian wilderness.
The film was produced by Krzykowski, Patrick Ewald (Turbo Kid), Lucky McKee (May, The Woman) and Shaked Berenson (The Nanny) and was executive produced by two-time Academy Award nominee John Sayles (Lone Star, Passion Fish), Oscar-winning filmmaker Douglas Trumbull (Blade Runner, 2001: A Space Odyssey), Louise Lovegrove (I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore), Giles Daoust (Starry Eyes), Catherine Dumonceaux (The Death of Stalin), Deborah Shriver and John Shriver. Richard Yuricich (Blade Runner, Close Encounters of the Third Kind) supervised the film’s visual effects. Epic Pictures acted as the production and primary financing company for the film.
Ward and Jess De Leo from RLJE negotiated the deal with Ewald and Michelle Change of Ramo Law on behalf of the filmmakers.
