Acorn TV, AMC Networks’ streamer devoted to British and international television, has fascinating original and exclusive premieres in the wings for the spring– including its first feature film that continues the story of Australia’s globally-renowned series Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries five years after the last, third season– as well as several new, intense drama series. In this captivating sequel series to the popular foreign-language drama The Oldenheim 12, we visit another Dutch village, Schouwendam, where there are secrets and unexpected connections among its residents. Set in 1880s Ireland, this darkly comic murder mystery follows renowned memorial photographer Brock Blennerhasset (Michael Smiley, Luther, Kill List),whomakes a living out of taking photos of the dead in the Victorian era of “postmortem photography.” Blennerhasset becomes targeted as a possible suspect in a series of murders and with his family put in harm’s way, tenacious detective Frederick Regan (Aidan O’Hare, Jackie, Pilis) drags him into an investigation of Dublin’s criminal underbelly to track down the real serial killer before he strikes again.
